DFC Company (Dakota Fence, 3D Specialties, Sign Solutions USA, Dakota Playground, Park & Play USA, Town & Country Fence, Dakota Unlimited, West River Striping, SAAFE/Stadium Steve, DFC Property Management) is a growing specialty contractor primarily involved in residential/commercial fence, highway guardrail, fabrication, and commercial playground construction, bleacher installation, as well as traffic control services and pavement marking. We provide services to homeowners, commercial businesses, and government entities. Shift and Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
Summary:
- Monitor fabrication and manufacturing bidding opportunities, including regional Builders Exchange sites.
- Ensure bid calendar estimates are completed and submitted on time.
- Prepare fabrication and manufacturing estimates, perform material take-offs, and attend bid kick-off meetings.
- Manage project submittals and approvals for clients and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct site surveys for special projects to assess dimensions and conditions.
- Solicit bids for materials and services, exploring new and alternate vendors.
- Purchase materials for projects, the fabrication shop, and inventory.
- Coordinate shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Obtain required documentation and certifications from vendors and subcontractors.
- Work with the Drafting Project Manager to utilize in-house drafting services.
- Manage external detailing and engineering services as needed.
- Define fabrication processes and resolve dimensional discrepancies.
- Oversee project documentation for client turnover.
- Monitor project completion and ensure all closeout requirements are met.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation in coordination with the Manufacturing Process Coordinator.
- Collaborate with directors to develop and improve fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Serve as a backup for various departmental roles per the Responsibilities Matrix.
- Maintain organized material certifications linked to purchase orders.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience is required.
- Estimating and purchasing steel fabrication projects is highly recommended.
- Associate or bachelors degree in drafting, construction estimating, construction management, project management, industrial technology, or engineering.
- AISC program experience is a plus.
