What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Financial Controller position at DFS Oskaloosa, LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Directly assist and backup the Finance Controller by helping to oversee and manage the financial operations of the company
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Manage the general ledger reconciliation process
- Generate month-end customer statements
- Assist with onboarding, terminations, employee changes, and employee clothing allowance administration
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory reports, and company policies
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
- Support all other Accounting Department Functions acting as both the back-up and primary trainer
- Perform functions in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, collections, and cash flow management
Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as GP, or related accounting software
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation principles and practices
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements
- Solid understanding of debits, credits, and financial transactions
- Ability to effectively manage accounts receivable processes
- Financial acumen to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Knowledge of governmental accounting principles is a plus
