Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Offshore Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cranes and other heavy equipment on construction sites to lift, move, and position materials. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Duties
- Operate various types of cranes, including but not limited to tower cranes, mobile cranes, and crawler cranes.
- Safely lift, move, and position loads in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate lifting operations.
- Maintain clear communication with ground crew using hand signals or radios.
- Monitor load weights and ensure proper rigging techniques are applied.
- Perform routine maintenance on cranes and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols on construction sites.
- Assist in the operation of other heavy machinery as needed, including loaders, concrete mixers, and front loader trucks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating cranes or heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with farm machinery and commercial driving is a plus.
- Experience with loader operation and concrete mixer operation is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites while following safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Valid crane operator certification or license preferred.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment is an advantage.
