DHT is hiring at all facilities with additional Michigan locations in Newport and Port Huron and also Bellefontaine, Ohio. DHT has several divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply. DHT also operates full-service repair facilities.

Our DHT Logistics team is looking for a reliable, critical-thinking propane dispatcher. We are seeking to establish a hiring list for future hire. Our ideal candidate must be able to work in an office setting as part of a team and must have weekend availability. The propane dispatcher will be responsible for using routing software to establish daily trucking routes that make required stops outlined in customer contracts. Our ideal candidate will have extensive verifiable dispatch experience in the trucking industry. Understanding of regional trucking dispatching as well as the seasonal nature of same is required. Willingness to promote the company and interact with drivers to ensure their satisfaction and proactively resolve issues is required.

In This Role You Will
- Develop daily and emergency delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the shift.
- Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes.
- Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues; work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries.
- Schedule and dispatch workers, equipment, and/or service vehicles to appropriate locations, according to customer requests, specifications, and needs.

What you need:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work in an office setting with weekend availability and be comfortable being on-call.
- Strong knowledge of the roadways throughout the immediate area.
- Ability to work independently within a team environment in high pressure situations.
- Experience with commodities hauled in pressurized tankers required and highly preferred.
