Position Summary
Servers at Diablo Country Club are the face of our dining experience, providing exceptional service and creating memorable moments for our members and guests. This role requires a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. Servers work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, from welcoming members to delivering high-quality food and beverages.
Reporting Relationship: Restaurant Manager
Work Performed
- Greet members and guests promptly upon arrival at the pool area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the pool menu, offering recommendations and answering questions about ingredients, preparation methods, and specials.
- Place orders accurately, communicating any special requests or dietary restrictions to the kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages poolside, ensuring items are presented correctly and at the appropriate temperature.
- Suggest and serve drinks, snacks, and other pool-friendly menu items.
- Accurately process billings for orders, ensuring all items are charged to the correct member account.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pool area, including tables, chairs, and server stations.
- Promptly address any member complaints or concerns, notifying the Restaurant Manager as necessary.
- Ensure proper setup of pool area, including umbrellas, towels, and other amenities, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Communicate with the Restaurant Manager regarding supply needs, such as menus, glassware, and utensils.
- Complete side work, cleaning tasks, and closing duties as assigned.
- Attend pre-shift meetings and training sessions to stay informed and continually improve service skills.
- Adhere to all food and beverage service policies, procedures, and safety and sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements for Position:
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine passion for providing outstanding service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn about pool-friendly food and beverage offerings.
- Proficient in basic math and able to learn POS systems.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid food handler's certificate (can be obtained upon hiring).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often in outdoor weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting and carrying trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with members, guests, and team members.
- Comfortable working in and around pool areas, with exposure to sun, heat, and water.
Salary : $20 - $22
