What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mammography Services Assistant position at DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING ASSOCIATES INC?
DIA is currently in need of a Mammography Technologist with QC Experience that will work with a Tele-mammography and onsite Radiologist practice providing clerical and process duties in an office setting. No mammography performed by this position. Under the direction and supervision of the Mammography Coordinator, assists the mammography coordinator and radiologist with communication and mammography procedures to facilitate interpretation and report completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Clerical and customer support of Telemammogrpahy, including answers all incoming phone calls in three rings or less. Microsoft applications experience with Excel and Word to assist in record keeping is needed.
Participates in daily continuous quality improvement efforts for excellence in mammography interpretations.
Assist radiologist and mammography coordinator with direct communication to site mammographers and ultrasound techs as well as communication between facility technologist, Radiologist, referring physicians, RPA's and Residents.
Maintenance of facility record keeping, update certificates for ACR, FDA and Physicist Surveys.
Perform and maintain daily and weekly QC tests on mammography workstations.
Troubleshoot errors made by the facility, fax documents or reports as requested, scan tech sheets or patient information sheets when needed.
Assists Mammography coordinator in yearly facility site visits and in the review of QC and QA records of facility mammographers. Includes document traffic between the department and the facility.
Tracks Radiologist CME and assist with notification to Radiologist for expiring CME.
Oversee notification of BIRADS 4 and 5 for Critical results reporting and assists with notification when needed.
Provide education to facilities where to find current and necessary DIA radiologists credentials in WEBRIS.
Monitors the PACS system on mammography workstations.
Assists in the cleanliness and order of the Tele-mammography department including, monitor cleaning, dusting, trash and recycle bins care and vacuuming weekly.
Assists the radiologists in coordinating mammography exams for efficient work flow and efficiency.
Assists with residents’ training on Mammography system/Viewers and processes.
Assist in new tele-mammography site set-up procedures
Assist radiologist and mammography coordinator in ongoing development and improvement of DIA EQUIP process and meeting FDA EQUIP regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Graduate of an approved program in Radiologic Technology with 2 years of technical experience in Mammography specific to QC Working Knowledge in Mammography. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology. Mammography certification or eligibility by the ARRT.
