What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLS Generalist position at Diagnostic Laboratory Science?

Graveyard shift needed 11pm-7:30am
**Generalist with at least 5 years of experience in hospital/laboratory**
Responsibilities:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist that will independently perform a wide variety of technical procedures including performing clinical laboratory tests, preparing reagents, performing quality control and calibration for test systems, maintaining and repairing laboratory equipment, processing specimens, performing data entry, etc. Assist with oversight of the proficiency testing program for the laboratory section including PT survey handling, analysis, reporting, reviewing and monitoring.
Review quality control records and perform investigation and corrective action for omissions or incorrect QC data.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Interact with lab personnel, appropriate assigning test procedures for specimens, process specimens for immediate testing or storage for future testing and coordinate timing of the assays with other lab personnel
- Maintain computer proficiency appropriate to enter results into a database and report results to supervisors and communicate with sections heads and directors
- Order appropriate materials, maintain inventory of reagents and supplies, care for lab equipment and include proper documentation of all quality control and assurance procedures Knowledge of accepted analytical practices, weighing, solution preparation, calculations, etc.
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required.
Required:
· – Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, molecular microbiology, or related discipline
· – California License (CLS or CGMBS)
