Description
The Revenue Cycle Supervisor is responsible for oversite of billing, the processing of claims and statements and the monthly invoicing of Contract bills. This position requires understanding of accounts receivable and adherence of billing standards. Responsible for conducting performance evaluations, coordinating staff schedules, and evaluating patient flow to maintain maximum productivity and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the daily processing of claims and statements with quick and efficient resolution of rejections.
- Supervise the timely billing of all special/contract bill arrangements ensuring accurate and timely invoicing with follow up of any outstanding balances >90 days.
- Monitor billing system and manage work queues, ensuring timely turnaround of rejections and denials
- Monitor team communications with patients related to patient responsibilities, financial payment plans, payment collection and medical record distribution to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and utilization of AIDET Principles to ensure company values are portrayed in all areas.
- Communicate team metrics and monitor team performance to ensure targets are met
- Monitor Billing system for updates and training opportunities. Training staff on new features
- Provide feedback to Coding and Provider enrollment vendors to ensure quick resolution of identified issues.
- Conduct management duties including arranging staff schedules, provide and/or arrange for staff training, performing coaching sessions, disciplinary action, and performance evaluation, maintain department productivity and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Interact with upper management and partners through attending management meetings and outpatient center management meetings, completing monthly stop light reports, and participating in peer panel interviews and peer reviews.
· Perform computer operations including email, a fax server program, electronic medical record, and revenue collection system. Utilize phone, fax, copier, and scanner.
- Develop staff by providing training, mentoring and guidance for departmental members.
- Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and enhances productivity.
· Recommend and assist in the development of policies, procedures and systems to improve workflows, efficiencies, and to meet all goals/metrics that are set for the department.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in medical or business preferred
Experience: Minimum 1 - 3 years supervisory/leadership experience required including previous billing/clearinghouse and authorization experience. Must possess knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) and understanding of copays, coinsurance, deductibles and denial codes; attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize independently; prior experience using Imagine billing software preferred; the ability to multi-task and in a busy office environment; proficient customer service skills; intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Email; ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System.
Knowledge: Consistently model company values and service excellence. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Sound knowledge of health insurance providers. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
Skills: Basic computer skills including Email, Excel, Word, and Power Point. Can comprehend and utilize the electronic medical record system and medical office software. Exposed to confidential organization plans and patient information and must safeguard the integrity of the information. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced office environment. Should be able to bend, reach, and grasp. Manual dexterity is needed for computer keyboard, phone and various office equipment operations. Normal or corrected vision and hearing is required. Occasional lifting, pushing or pulling up to 10 lbs.
Conditions of employment: This role is an onsite role in our RCM/Scheduling/Billing Department, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. Adherence to Mission, Vision and Values of DRI and professional representation of DRI.
