Overview:
Diakon Logistics is a leading provider of last mile solutions. Diakon is seeking capable leaders to help its growing multi-client warehouse solutions, catering to diverse industries including furniture, appliances, mattresses, beverages, medical, hospitality, and retail. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Warehouse Operations to oversee our expanding operations. Diakon is headquartered in Austin, Texas. This role involves significant travel, with expectations up to 100%, to manage and optimize warehouse operations across multiple sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Location and Preparedness:
- Identify and evaluate potential warehouse locations to meet the strategic needs of our clients.
- Oversee the preparation of new sites, ensuring they meet operational, safety, and client-specific standards.
- IT and Warehouse Management Solutions:
- Implement and manage IT systems crucial for efficient warehouse operations, including inventory management, order processing, and logistics software.
- Lead the integration of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) tailored to the needs of different industry clients.
- Operational Management:
- Direct the day-to-day operations of multiple warehouses, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Optimize inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, sorting, picking, packing, shipping and storage processes, to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with other operations and solutions staff to ensure seamless service delivery across all client accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand and anticipate their needs, providing tailored solutions.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage cross-functional teams, including logistics coordinators, inventory specialists, and third-party logistics providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a multi-client environment.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale operations with a focus on multi-industry solutions.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and distribution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems and logistics software.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively; up to 100% travel required.
