Job Summary
All new Diamond Quality Collision Center based in Alexandria, MN as an opening for the Auto Body Shop Manager.
This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the auto body repair shop. This includes managing a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality vehicle repairs, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, managing customer relationships, and driving the overall profitability of the business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in auto body repair and management, strong leadership skills, and a customer-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the auto body shop, ensuring all repair work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage the workflow of vehicles in the shop, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Monitor repair processes, including estimate preparation, parts ordering, and job progress, to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise and manage a team of auto body technicians, painters, and other shop staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff to ensure repair quality meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Ensure employees are properly trained on shop safety protocols, new technologies, and repair techniques.
- Customer Service and Relations
- Address customer concerns, inquiries, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, aiming for customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Prepare detailed estimates and explanations of repair work for customers, ensuring transparency and trust.
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters and customers to ensure smooth claim processing and timely completion of repairs.
- Inventory and Parts Management
- Manage parts inventory to ensure timely availability of materials required for repairs.
- Work with suppliers to source parts at competitive prices and maintain relationships for quick turnarounds.
- Keep track of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and available when needed.
- Financial Management and Reporting
- Assist in budgeting and managing expenses to meet financial goals.
- Monitor shop revenue, costs, and profitability, ensuring the shop is operating within budget.
- Review and approve repair estimates and invoices to ensure accuracy and proper billing.
- Generate regular reports on shop performance, including sales, labor efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Quality Control and Safety
- Ensure all vehicles are repaired and painted to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Implement and enforce safety standards and protocols in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Regularly inspect the shop environment, equipment, and vehicles for safety compliance.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional technical certification or training in auto body repair is a plus.
- Management or business degree is desirable but not required.
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in auto body repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven experience managing an auto body repair shop or similar automotive service facility.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, parts, and tools.
- Experience working with insurance companies and understanding the claims process.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Compensation
- Salary: $70,000.00-$130,000.00K
