Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
- Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) files to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Troubleshoot issues with machines and make necessary adjustments
Skills:
- Proficient in operating Fanuc and other CNC machines
- Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) or optical comparator for quality control purposes
- Knowledge of power tools, lathe, and micrometer for precise measurements
- Ability to assemble components according to specifications
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize production processes
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for interpreting engineering drawings
- Welding skills are an advantage
