Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Night Environmental Services Worker to join our team. This role is vital to maintaining the hospital's cleanliness and sanitation during overnight hours. The Night Environmental Services Worker will focus on deep cleaning, managing critical areas like the Emergency Department, and ensuring that the hospital meets the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
Responsibilities
- Critical Cleaning Tasks:
- Perform terminal cleaning of OR rooms every 24 hours.
- Clean and sanitize decontamination rooms as needed (PRN).
- Emergency Department Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the Emergency Department throughout the night shift.
- Deep Cleaning and General Maintenance:
- Perform deep cleaning tasks, including floor care, surface sanitation, and high-touch areas.
- Manage biohazard waste disposal safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to OSHA standards and safety protocols in all cleaning procedures.
- Ensure compliance with hospital infection control standards.
- Support and Reporting:
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
- Promptly report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Previous experience in custodial services or environmental services preferred.
- Familiarity with hospital cleaning protocols and biohazard procedures is a plus.
- Skills and Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Certifications:
- Biohazard training (provided).
- Health and Background Requirements:
- TB test and immunizations required within 30 days of employment.
- No felonies within the last 7 years.
