Job Summary : The Receiving Specialist is responsible for ensuring the needs of the internal and external customers are being met. The specialist will receive, verify, inspect and properly label and distribute or store all incoming deliveries of materials. This position works 6 : 00am-2 : 00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Receive, verify, inspect, properly label and distribute or store all incoming deliveries of materials
Take calls and setup delivery appointments for all inbound deliveries
Load and unload delivery trucks
Maintain inventory accuracy both physically and in the inventory system
Maintain and file documents and paperwork per company policies
Process outgoing packages / small parcel using UPS, FedEx and other various shipping software
Operate the company delivery truck as needed
Conduct inspections of vehicle before departure
Complete logs and report
Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Deliver mail to the local post office
Transfer materials between buildings and put away and / or stage for production
Assist Shipping with finishing, wrapping, banding, and palletizing of product needed for shipment and loading trucks as needed
Collect Gaylord's, weigh, document on the scrap sheet, and load them on the scrap trailer, process paperwork and notify all parties
Operate powered industrial trucks including forklifts, powered jacks, etc.
Utilize computer systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office software including email, word, excel
Maintain a clean and safe environment
Maintain hazardous waste documentation and proper storage per company policies
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
A minimum of one (1) year experience working in shipping / receiving
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
A DOT Card or ability to pass DOT physical and driving test.
Knowledge of PC and database programs; experience working with an internal ERP system, printing labels, word processing, and spreadsheets
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and via email
Basic measuring skills and visual quality inspection of incoming material
Ability to function and operate in a team environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping
Strong attention to detail
Experienced in operating a Forklift and electric pallet jacks
Strong math aptitude
Experience working with FedEx Ship Manger® and UPS WorldShip®
Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
