Our LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) trucking company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. The CFO will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, managing the financial operations, and ensuring the fiscal health of the company. This role will involve close collaboration with the PRESIDENT and other senior executives to drive the company's financial strategy and performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Financial Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability goals.
- Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to provide actionable insights to the executive team.
- Identify and evaluate financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Work closely with the PRESIDENT and Board of Directors to develop long-term financial plans and objectives.
Financial Management
Manage the company's financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and monthly financial reports.Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.Operational Efficiency
Collaborate with other departments to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement in pricing, cost management, and profitability.Implement financial systems and processes to streamline operations and enhance reporting accuracy.Leadership and Team Development
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Recruit, train, and retain top talent within the finance department.Provide guidance and support to department heads on financial matters and business decisions.Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company's financial assets and reputation.Monitor and manage the company's cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability.QualificationsEducation and Experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Experience in the transportation or logistics industry, particularly in LTL trucking, is highly desirable.Experience working with ESOP company preferred.Skills and Competencies
