As the Construction Operations Manager specializing in electrical construction, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of all ground-up electrical projects. You will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency, quality control, and safety throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electrical construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical construction operations for ground-up commercial and industrial projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Oversee all phases of electrical construction, from initial planning through to final inspection and project close-out.
- Manage and coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient project execution and profitability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Direct and mentor a team of project managers, electricians, and field supervisors, providing guidance on operational procedures, safety protocols, and project execution.
- Monitor and manage project risks, identifying potential issues early and implementing solutions to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Collaborate with the estimating team to develop accurate and competitive bids for new projects.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure electrical systems are installed according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Prepare and present regular project reports for senior management, detailing project status, challenges, and financial performance.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of safety across all projects.
- Manage procurement of electrical materials and supplies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery to the job site.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- 8 years of experience in electrical construction, with a focus on ground-up commercial and industrial projects.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale electrical projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
