Drafter/Designer – Custom Home Plans

We're expanding our team and seeking a Drafter/Designer to bring custom home plans to life.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Drafter/Designer to create custom home plans that align with our clients' visions and adhere to building codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential drafting and design, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating innovative spaces. Knowledge of estimating and construction costs is a significant plus, allowing for more accurate project planning and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed construction drawings and custom home plans using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Work closely with clients, sales, and project management teams to understand design requirements and preferences.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, HOA guidelines, and industry standards.
- Assist in developing 3D renderings and visualizations to help clients better understand the design.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure plans are accurate and buildable.
- Incorporate ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) designs into home plans as needed.
- Assist with estimating project costs by calculating material quantities, labor needs, and timelines.
- Revise plans as needed based on client feedback and construction requirements.
- Maintain project documentation and drawing revisions throughout the design process.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Drafter/Designer, preferably in residential construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting software.
- Strong understanding of building codes and construction best practices.
- Knowledge of ICF construction is a plus.
- Experience with estimating and project cost analysis is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Drafting, Architecture, or Design.
- Experience in custom home building or remodeling.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling tools like SketchUp or Lumion.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods to assist in accurate cost estimating.
