Overview:

Macawber Engineering Inc., an industrial equipment manufacturer looking for a Drafter to create new mechanical drawings, update and modify completed drawings and to participate in the overall activities of an engineering department.

You must have a strong drive to achieve results to high degree of detail and enjoy working for a small company committed to customers, teamwork, product, and process quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Creates and modifies 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for manufacturing, vendor, or customer use by studying engineering specifications, creating an initial layout of the system, components, and parts. Completes a layout of the system/s, components, and parts drawing multiple views of the system, components, and parts; depicting relationship of components and parts; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials.

• Corrects redlines and verifies as built drawings after completion.
• Checks and verifies customer and manufacturing designs including part numbers, part quantities, and overall design meeting engineering design and contractual specifications.
• Creates bills of materials in drawings and ERP system.
• Identifies and verifies specifications by examining engineering documents.
• Other responsibilities and/or projects as assigned by management.

Skills:

• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Technical/mechanical knowledge and natural interest in solving problems.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings. Electrical drawings an advantage.
• Proficient computer skills including Excel with high-level attention to detail, thorough and organized.
• Ability to independently progress multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently based upon knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures.
• Energetic, positive, and highly motivated to succeed and achieve results and a positive team player.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of Associate’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design or equivalent field of study.
• 3 years of work experience in drafting.
