Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records and assist in various bookkeeping tasks. This role is essential for ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of accounts.
  • Maintain the general ledger by recording financial transactions accurately.
  • Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and revenues.
  • Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues that need resolution.
  • Utilize accounting software for data entry and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

Skills

  • Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills for account analysis and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual tasks effectively.
  • Prior experience in public accounting is a plus, but not mandatory.
