Broad Function
The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of processing plant and manufacturing facility upgrade projects. The role requires experience with construction site management along with project and mechanical drawing software. The position will require working closely with frontline operations and maintenance team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and delivery of facility upgrade projects within a mineral processing plant and manufacturing facility.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource plans and communicate goals, progress, and results to team and senior management.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure timely completion.
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Oversee the development of engineering designs for mineral processing equipment and systems.
- Ensure that all designs meet operational requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with team to develop solutions for technical challenges and optimize processes.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within cost constraints.
- Track expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide regular financial reporting to senior management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and safety.
- Provide leadership and guidance to contractors and site personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Identify potential risks to project timelines, costs, or quality, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Evaluate and address environmental impacts related to the mineral processing operations.
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Prepare detailed project reports and presentations for senior management.
