Paint Pretreatment Technician
Job Description
Location: Greenville, MI

Summary
The Pretreatment Technician is responsible for chemical analysis of water, operating the Pretreatment Line and monitoring and adjusting chemicals in the liquid paint treatment system. The technician is required to work safely with hazardous materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follows safety rules 100% of the time.
- Contributes to a safe work environment by following housekeeping guidelines.
- Maintains good attendance.
- Follows instructions and works to meet daily job assignments and KPI’s.
- Strictly follow the instructions during operations, as well as maintenance of the equipment
- Maintains a productive working environment through communication and teamwork.
- Conduct daily detection testing, record results and make appropriate adjustments
- Complete daily monitoring check sheet
- Fill and maintain all chemical tank levels, with the appropriate chemicals
- Weekly calibration for the Pretreatment conductivity meters
- Maintain and clean tank filter screens
- Conduct scheduled operator PMs and coordinate maintenance repairs
- Conduct or assist in annual cleaning of pretreatment system
- Primary contact concerning chemicals used in area
- Work with chemical supplier on product testing and maintaining pretreatment supplies
- Maintain chemical inventory
- All other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-3 Years’ experience in working with chemicals and testing in a lab
- Strong mechanical aptitude skills
- Manufacturing or paint experience preferred
- Working knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations helpful

Physical Work Conditions
- Must be able to work in a hot environment
- Must be able to lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight
- Must be able to lift 50 – 65 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required
