Here is your opportunity to experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. What is a DSP? You provide support to the client in their homes and in the community. We help the community understand and embrace diversity and help our clients navigate the community they live in. D.I.C.E (Diversity, Inclusion, Community and Equality) Residential Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSP). In addition, as a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism. Duties:
- Support individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Administer medication and monitor vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with transportation and accompany individuals to appointments, community outings or possible overnight outings as planned.
- Implement individualized care plans (IISP) and document progress and observations using our electronic medical records and medication administration record.
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills and meeting client specific goals.
- Provide assistance with household tasks and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid when necessary and no the DDA mandatory reporting requirements for abuse and neglect.
Skills:
- Experience as a Direct support Professional (DSP) or experience in home care, nursing homes, or similar settings is preferred
- Knowledge of working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Familiarity with dementia and mental health care is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Empathy and compassion for individuals with special needs
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

Salary: $18.50hr
Expected hours: 36 per week min

Experience:

License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
- NAR, HCA or CNA (required or has applied for with DOH-Dept of Health)
- 75hr Certification

- CPR/First Aide
- Blood Borne Pathogens
- Orientation and Safety Certification
Shift availability:
- Night Shift
- Rotating weekends every other weekend (Required)
Work Location: In person at the clients residents within the Tri Cities
