Job Summary:
The Manager, Human Resources will plan, direct, and coordinate the Human Resource administrative functions of the Company. This position oversees payroll, recruiting, interviewing, hiring of new staff, consults with executives on strategic planning, and performs duties necessary to carry out the Companys day-to-day Human Resources activities, and serves as a link between Company management and its employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues
- Manage the recruitment and selection process through collaboration with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings
- Nurture a positive culture and working environment
- Maintain HR/recruiting software
- Oversee payroll, pay plans, and the benefit programs
- Maintain Company handbooks
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high-performance
- Oversee unemployment claims handling and perform related tasks as necessary
- Coordinate and collaborate with department heads to maintain and modify requirements for accreditation needs for all areas of the company
- Oversee the daily workflow of the human resources function through supervision of HR and Payroll Assistant
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations to direct reports
- Oversee and ensure proper documentation of employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Conduct post-employment interviews and provide feedback to management
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Conduct on-site visits to C-stores and alternate offices
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulations, and HR best practices
- Strong understanding of recruitment, compensation, and performance management
- Experience with HR software and data management tools
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with tact
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or an Associates degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience.
- 5 years of experience in HR
- 1-3 years in a leadership role preferred
- Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred or must be obtained within 2 years of employment
