POSITION SUMMARY:
- Lead and manage the DISD Education Foundation to support educational programs and its financial mission through strategic fundraising, program development, and community engagement
- Oversee all Foundation operations, including fundraising campaigns, grant programs, and scholarship initiatives, while ensuring efficient financial management and compliance
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (preferred)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaboration with the Foundation Board:
- Act as the primary liaison between the Foundation Board and the District, ensuring alignment of initiatives with board goals
- Collaborate with the Board on strategic planning to establish and implement the Foundation's mission, vision, and objectives.
- Assist the DEF board president in preparing and maintaining meeting agendas and minutes
- Provide the Board with regular updates on fundraising initiatives, financial operations, and program success
- Support Board member recruitment, orientation, and engagement to ensure effective governance
- Work with the Board on organization management, including approving budgets, strategic initiatives, and major events
Strategic Leadership & Development:
- Develop and implement the Education Foundation Strategic Plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors
- Identify and pursue new funding sources to expand Foundation initiatives
- Create operating budgets and timelines for all Foundation programs
- Ensure revenue-generating activities align with and support Foundation goals
- Work closely with the DEF Board and Superintendent on organizational management and strategic planning
Fundraising & Event Management:
- Develop and execute major fundraising initiatives, including:
- Annual gala and special events
- Corporate donation campaigns
- Grant and investment proposals to businesses and private foundations
- Creation of strategic partnerships with businesses and organizations
- Parent and community fundraising programs
- Create and implement donor recognition programs
- Coordinate Education Foundation Book Bus operations
- Assist DEF Board in volunteer recruitment and management
- Assist DEF Board in recruiting and managing volunteers for fundraising events and initiatives
Program Administration:
Oversee the Innovative Teaching Grants program, including:
- Coordinating the application process
- Facilitating the Grant Review Committee
- Managing award procedures
Manage scholarship programs by:
- Securing new scholarship donors
- Coordinating the selection process
- Ensuring timely processing and tracking of scholarships
Financial Oversight & Compliance:
- Oversee all financial operations and records for the Foundation
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and tax requirements
- Monitor and track all donations and disbursements
- Maintain accurate budgets and financial reporting, including preparing annual reports and state and federal filings
Communication & Public Relations:
- Serve as the administrative liaison between the Education Foundation and the District
- Promote community awareness through active engagement and outreach
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, donors, and partners
- Oversee the Foundation's website and social media presence
- Provide support for the development of public relations materials for Foundation initiatives
Administrative Leadership:
- Assist the DEF board president in preparing and maintaining meeting agendas and minutes
- Supervise Foundation staff and volunteers
- Collaborate with the Director of Public Relations and the Communications Team
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all Foundation activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Public Relations in supervising the Coordinator of Community Engagement and Department Secretary
- Oversee volunteers supporting Foundation events and program
