Description
Quality Improvement Specialist (Sepulveda) This is a hybrid position based in Culver City, CA with the expectation to be on-site on a quarterly basis. You have the option to elect into a 9/80 flex work schedule.

The pay range for this role is $68,6580 - $69,134 annually.

Summary

As a Quality Improvement Specialist, and under the direction of the Quality Improvement Manager, you will be responsible for incorporating and maintaining quality improvement standards and processes with our Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Substance Abuse Prevention and Counseling (SAPC), Transitional Age Youth (TAY) and Department of Mental Health (DMH) clinical programs.

Primary Duties

  • Performs various chart reviews to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory standards, presents the data and facilitates quality improvement projects based on review reports.
  • Manipulates and compares reports to ensure accuracy between data entry and documents.
  • Takes the initiative to seek out areas for agency and client care improvement in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, timeliness, safety, access, and culturally appropriateness.
  • Will problem solve, suggest and develop ways to make said improvements. Will monitor and make adjustments to these quality improvements using PDSA cycles.
  • Performs site HIPAA audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assists with preparation for, and completion of, LA-County and State audits and Site Visits.
  • Identifies staff training needs and ensures development of and participation in, the implementation to staff at all program levels.
  • Maintains the Agency Documentation Training Manual.
  • Assists with maintenance of documentation templates on the Agency intranet site.
  • Recommends and assists in preparing new forms.
  • Attends county QIC meetings and relate/disseminate essential information to relevant staff within the Agency.
  • Collaborates with other departments, attend and participate in routinely scheduled program, division and Agency staff meetings.
  • Provides end users with issue support, resolution and recommendations as needed, including EHR updates and changes with applicable Departments and users.
  • Document, track and monitor problems and system improvements to ensure a timely and functional resolution.
  • Supports management and end user access to data sources in the EHR.
  • Provides support to Help Desk in a specialized EHR support role as needed
  • Participates in the development of Agency training based on needs, and routinely trains staff on agency/DMH LA County standards for documentation.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of clinical experience in a DMH environment.
  • Support the values and mission of Didi Hirsch as related to employment.
  • Know and comply with Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health policies and documentation guidelines, and other state/ federal regulations related to quality assurance and management.
  • Present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing. Strong effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; detail-oriented.
  • Utilize analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
