What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Setter position at DIE SERVICES INTERNATIONAL?
Die Services International, LLC an industry leader in service and medium volume stamping for the automotive industry is seeking Die Setters. This individual will be responsible for the safe setup\teardown of stamping dies in stamping presses and auxiliary equipment including first piece approval that facilitates safe and efficient production of product that meets or exceeds quality, production and customer expectations. This position requires an advanced skill level where the employee is able to operate with limited supervision and can setup any die and related equipment with no technical assistance or oversight. Three years of Die Setting experience is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs safe removal of dies per standard procedure including ensuring a clean bolster area in
preparation for the next die.
2. Oversees safe material handling including proper crane operation for storing, transporting and staging
of dies.
3. Prepares die and bolster area for safe loading of dies, loads and aligns dies in press and clamps dies in
a manner that ensures safe and efficient operation. This includes making proper press adjustments,
setting of counter balances and ensuring all press safety settings\equipment are operating including
appropriate palm buttons and light curtains.
4. Ensures the dies are assembled and installed properly including correct nitrogen tonnage, air pin
setups, shut heights, feeders and material handling equipment like conveyors.
5. Sets machine stops, scrap chutes and conveyors and makes machine adjustments to facilitate both
safe and ergonomic production.
6. Assist with the training of press operators to ensure the safety of all parties, efficient production and
quality parts.
7. Supports and ensures first piece approval.
8. Makes appropriate adjustments should conditions change during the production phase.
Job Qualifications:
1. Ability to lift and/or move parts up to 50 pounds in weight. Ability to walk and stand for extended
periods of time including reaching, stooping, bending and twisting.
2. Ability to count, read, write and perform fundamental math.
3. Ability to read and understand part drawings, quality assumptions and submission expectations.
4. Ability to work independently and self-directed per assigned duties and instructions.
5. Must be flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,480.00 - $48,048.00 per year
