Shift: Monday - Wednesday, 7:00am to 7:00pm. Rotating weekends. Overtime available.
As a Lead Kettle Operator, you will be responsible for managing the Kettle Operators and chip frying process per specifications.
Principle functions of the job:
- Adhere to all current GMP’s, food safety requirements and company policies
- Adhere to fire extinguisher (ABC/K) and fire suppression system safety training and procedures
- Prepare for startup and/or shut down of kettles
• Operate kettles by monitoring the frying processes and producing a quality finished product in a fast-paced environment under constant pressure of the kettle production • Monitor, maintain and change oil in kettles as needed • Set up and change slicer heads
- Coordinate kettle operations with the basement prep rooms and packing room
- Oversee quality and food safety of raw material coming from prep rooms, product coming out of kettle and product being sorted
- Ensure all waste from prep rooms, kettle rooms and sorting areas are removed as needed throughout the day and all waste containers and bins are emptied for incoming shift
- Document and log all required information accurately and timely
- Alert management of any problems found during frying process, monitor equipment and report malfunctions to maintenance and management
- Use material handling equipment as necessary and trained including but not limited to stretch wrapper, pallet jack, forklift and loader
- Comfortable working with high temperature oils and frying equipment in high paced, wet, oily and noisy environment
- Maintain a clean, organized work area (including equipment) and environment
- Clean and sanitize the plant and plant equipment including but not limited to packing machines, conveyors, hoppers, kettles, ceilings, walls and floors
- Work as part of a team; give lunches and breaks to others on team
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with the rest of the team
- Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor, Plant Manager, or upper management
