What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Dierbergs Markets, Inc.?
We are looking for a detail-oriented and positive individual to join our Accounts Payable team as Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you’ll ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts payable processes by managing a high volume of invoices, reviewing accounts, and reconciling statements for multiple business units, all while delivering excellent customer service and collaborating with internal and external partners.
About the role
With accuracy and a positive attitude, you’ll process a high volume of invoices for payment, review accounts, and reconcile statements for multiple business units, while providing super customer service. Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying vendor statements and handling correspondence.
- Researching and resolving accounts and vendor requests.
- Assist with check runs, month-end closing, and invoice accruals.
- Ensuring sales/use tax compliance and accruing use tax as needed.
- Maintaining accounts payable files and records.
- Supporting with process-improvement initiatives, systems upgrades, and requested reports.

Experience
- Minimum of one year of experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable department is preferred; Accounts Receivable experienced candidates will also be considered.
- Experience with Peoplesoft or large systems is a plus.
- Experience with electronic invoice submission platforms is a plus.
