Vice President of Procurement
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

We are looking for a Vice President of Procurement to lead our Perishable and Non-Perishable Category
Management teams, with responsibility for overall procurement and merchandising strategies, and direct
P&L responsibility. They place a keen focus on growing sales and net profit, while continually seeking to

Value Creation & Category Optimization
- Infuse digital transformation and data capabilities to drive decision making with a view on the future focus
- Assess price, demand, and assortment strategies to create additional value creation opportunities
- Evaluate buying and merchandising opportunities to maximize sales and profitability while ensuring
- Partner with team and vendors to ensure omni-channel product marketing and engagement strategies are
Accelerating adoption of digital and analytics-based decision making
- Share relevant data insights to build transparency, while leveraging spend analytics to build competitive
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive customer-centric changes through data-driven experimentation
- Adopt and implement agile methods to enable teams to quickly adapt to market conditions
- Utilize data to evaluate opportunities and recommend strategies for overall ordering efficacy
- Lead team through implementation and training of new data tools (or sources) to better understand
Cultivating new and existing supplier partnerships through vendor management/relations, promotional
marketing fund strategy & execution
- Build and maintain relationships with store and operations teams to better understand the demands of the
- Encourage procurement team to take calculated risks and identify enhanced methods of driving category
Leading and Inspiring teams
- Lead by example. Foster a work environment that embodies the core values of Dierbergs, excellence in
- Communicate complex situations into clear presentations for senior leadership, and deliver level appropriate presentations with agility and executive presence
About you
- Minimum of 15 years' experience with a strong mix of category management and merchandising
- Retail category management expertise with exposure to CPG environments preferred
- 7 years of people management experience required including experience leading people managers
- Possesses strong financial and analytical skills for conducting benchmarking, market research, data
- Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in developing and enhancing business processes and systems to drive business
- Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
- Able to multi-task, prioritize, and lead change in a fast-paced environment
