Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to work on fleet delivery vehicles and customers. Key responsibilities include:
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing repairs and maintenance on equipment.
- Maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
- Welding equipment as needed.
- Interpreting work orders and technical manuals.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems.
- Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets the manufacturer's specifications and legislated regulations.
- Able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must possess the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment and work in awkward positions.
- The ability to work alone or as a team.
- The ability to keep up with changing technology and updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with oil and fuel trucks (a plus).
- The ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs; ability to interpret policies and procedures, maps, and route directions.
- Overtime sometimes required.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
