Our Dean's office is seeking a detail-oriented, professional, and compassionate Procedure Scheduler to join our team and play a vital role in coordinating patient care and scheduling medical procedures.
Position Summary:
The Procedure Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling endoscopic and other medical procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role involves close communication with physicians, patients, insurance providers, and other departments to facilitate seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule procedures such as colonoscopies, endoscopies, and other GI-related services.
- Confirm appointment details with patients, including prep instructions, arrival times, and necessary documentation.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as required.
- Communicate with physicians and clinical teams regarding availability and scheduling preferences.
- Accurately input scheduling data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Provide outstanding patient service, answering questions and addressing scheduling concerns.
- Coordinate reschedules and cancellations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical scheduling, preferably in a GI or specialty clinic setting.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in EHR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
