Position
Digi International is looking for a Senior Hardware Product Manager for our Cellular Router Business. This person will be a critical team member, responsible for driving the success of our hardware products through effective management of processes, programs, and product lifecycle. This role demands a strategic thinker with a blend of creativity, conviction, and organizational skills to lead cross-functional teams and ensure products meet market needs, align with company goals, and maintain our competitive edge.
What You Will Do
- Product Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of cellular router hardware products from concept to end-of-life.
- Define and maintain product roadmaps in alignment with company goals and market trends.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to deliver products on time and within budget.
- Process Optimization:
- Establish and refine product management processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Implement best practices for product development, testing, and deployment.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for process improvement.
- Program Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute product launches, updates, and other initiatives.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful program execution.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and support teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitive trends, and opportunities for innovation.
- Analyze customer feedback and usage data to inform product improvements and new features.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the cellular networking industry, including emerging technologies and standards.
- Product Marketing:
- Assist with competitive analysis, pricing strategies, and content generation.
- Develop and/or support development of marketing materials, including webinars, presentations, and promotional content.
- Act as the "creative juice" for hardware innovation while driving conviction and clarity in product positioning.
- Demand Planning and Pricing:
- Oversee demand planning to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory management.
- Review and approve pricing strategies and updates.
- Manage SKUs and ensure alignment with market needs and manufacturing capabilities.
- Manufacturing Strategy:
- Play a pivotal role in establishing and refining the company’s new manufacturing strategy.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure product quality and scalability.
- Stewardship of New Product Development:
- Guide new products through the development and launch phases successfully.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure product readiness.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding product-related inquiries.
- Develop strong relationships with key customers, partners, and vendors to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to executive leadership.
Who You Are and What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in the cellular, networking or telecommunications industry.
- Proven track record of managing hardware products and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of cellular networking technologies and hardware development processes.
- Experience in product marketing, including competitive analysis, pricing, and content generation.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $130,500 – $204,000. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
