Overview
This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Director of Marketing Automation. The Marketing Automation Manager will be a power user of our Marketing Automation platform (Slate). This role will be responsible for deploying email/SMS automation sequences, publishing landing pages, and some database management for our college that increases lead generation, interest, applications, and enrolled students at our Redmond, WA campus.
The Marketing Automation Manager will be an organized, data-driven marketing technology specialist who has an interest in owning and growing our email channel to be better integrated with our greater marketing strategy and application pipeline. A strong candidate for this position will have a background in scalable data management programs, persona and interest-based nurture campaigns, including experience building and designing landing pages.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions / Goals
- Oversee tactical production and deployment of nurture and broadcast emails and mobile messages from end-to-end, including stakeholder management, ideation and scoping, audience targeting, build and set up, testing and QA, execution, and reporting and optimization. Final reviewer of all outgoing messages for accuracy, proper construction, and copy.
- Work closely with CRM manager to design easy-to-use landing pages and personalized portals that guide students through our application process with as little friction as possible, utilizing email/SMS automations as guardrails.
- Create & audit email performance measurements, reporting dashboards, and custom reports analyzing campaign performance to provide actionable recommendations and deliver continuous improvements to our email program.
- Champion continuous advancement of our email features and capabilities, including targeting, personalization, and template development. Lead email marketing initiatives, including continual optimization for deliverability, mobile rendering, engagement, etc.
- Work with stakeholders and our CRM manager to develop comprehensive targeted distribution populations for email communication.
- Work cross-functionally with content writers, creative services, and webteam to obtain email/SMS content and assets that are on-brand with the school’s other marketing materials & that best practices are being met.
- Leverage design features to build strong, responsive emails, landing pages, and forms that provide personalized journeys.
- Ensure data is maintained and treated in accordance with compliance, brand, and campus standards.
- Ensure email messages are properly constructed to adhere to industry best practices.
- Develop documentation and processes, email marketing calendar, A/B tests, and promotions.
- Coordinate with editorial team and social media staff to amplify content when appropriate.
- Process and schedule incoming marketing requests for email/SMS workflows and landing page deployment.
- Ensure data privacy and compliance.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Competencies
Required:
- Experience managing end-to-end email and/or mobile message production cycles.
- Knowledge of best practices for creative and templates, segmentation, dynamic content, and testing methodologies.
- Strong project management & communication skills.
- Strong familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, email development, & front-end design.
- Proven track record of improving the performance of email/text campaigns and the ability to derive actionable insights from data.
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional/cross-department teams and with individuals with diverse job responsibilities and backgrounds.
- Detail-oriented and organized self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively, as well as manage and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience with Slate CRM by Technolutions.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Some familiarity with SQL and Liquid Markup.
- Experience with web accessibility standards for landing pages and email.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and solve system errors independently.
- Experience with DMARC, SPF, DKIM, and blacklists.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
