Job Title: Account Executive – Structured Cabling & Security Solutions
Location: Birmingham, AL (Serving Alabama and Mississippi)
Reports To: Director of Sales
Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Account Executive to join our team, focusing on the sales and growth of our security solutions portfolio across Alabama and Mississippi. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in selling integrated security systems, including video surveillance, access control, and structured cabling systems. This position requires a self-motivated, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment and is capable of building strong, long-lasting client relationships.
As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for generating new business, managing existing accounts, and expanding market share in the region. You will work closely with both the sales and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions to meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Development & Prospecting:
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned geographic territory (Alabama and Mississippi). Conduct cold calls, attend industry events, and leverage existing networks to generate leads.
- Account Management:
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction, anticipating their security needs, and offering relevant solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships to foster repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Product Expertise & Solution Design:
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of video surveillance, access control systems, and structured cabling. Work with clients to assess their security needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and collaborate with the technical team to design customized systems.
- Proposal & Quote Generation:
Develop and deliver detailed proposals, presentations, and quotes tailored to client needs. Ensure proposals align with project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Sales Process Management:
Guide prospects through the entire sales cycle, from initial consultation to closing deals. Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and ensure successful handoff to the project delivery team post-sale.
- Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:
Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies in the security sector. Use market insights to position our offerings effectively and stay ahead of customer demands.
- Sales Reporting & Forecasting:
Track and report on sales activities, pipeline progress, and revenue forecasts. Maintain accurate CRM data to ensure visibility into your sales performance and client interactions.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Work closely with the engineering, project management, and customer support teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing service of security solutions.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of proven sales experience in the security industry, specifically in video surveillance, access control, and structured cabling systems. Experience working with enterprise-level clients is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of security technologies, including video surveillance (CCTV), access control systems, and structured cabling infrastructure. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and accessible manner.
- Sales Skills:
Strong negotiation, closing, and relationship-building skills. Experience managing the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
- Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to C-level executives and decision-makers.
- Self-Motivated & Goal-Oriented:
Ability to work independently, set goals, and deliver results. Strong time management and organizational skills. Does not require to be micromanaged.
- Technical Tools & CRM:
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with security industry-specific tools and platforms is a plus.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Travel:
Willingness to travel throughout Alabama and Mississippi as needed.
