What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Service Technician position at Digitrol, Inc.?
Digitrol is currently looking for a Service/Chiller Technician with strong mechanical ability and facilities experience and must have experience at similar facilities, with central chiller plant, boilers, air handling units and/or other commercial HVAC equipment. Must be familiar with and capable of operating the HVAC systems and adjusting control settings to meet varying facilities' environmental demands while preserving systems’ energy efficiency. May interact with building occupants, address customer comfort issues, respond to work orders, and will be responsible for general equipment maintenance as required by the service contract.
Responsibilities
- Performs annual PM agreement, service calls on equipment such as; split systems, RTU's, ductless split systems, etc.
- Performs an annual assessment on any water-cooled or air-cooled chiller and be able to leak check a low-pressure chiller using hot water
- Replacing oil filters and taking oil and refrigerant samples
- Pull a large refrigerant charge from chillers, including high and low-pressure refrigerant.
- Performs leak repairs
- Demonstrated experience in performing full overhauls on chillers
- Perform tube brushing safely and effectively on water-cooled chillers
- Ability to diagnosis and troubleshoot chilled water systems as a whole -- includes both the chilled water and condenser water systems
- Must know how to leverage factory resources for troubleshooting (e.g. factory web-sites, tech support, etc.)
Experience/Requirements
- Must be able implement repairs on large tonnage systems in an expedient method.
- Has undergone factory training for chillers and other HVAC equipment is desired
- Must understand and be able to read the plans for the facility and be familiar with relevant codes
- Strong understanding of air distribution systems, control systems, refrigeration circuits, chilled and hot water piping systems, and able to understand electrical schematics for HVAC equipment.
- Great customer service and relationship building skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Clean DMV
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent
- HVAC vocational degree or program certificate preferred
