Lead Event Security Officer
Job Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In-person (Sacramento, CA, and surrounding areas)
Position Overview
Diligence Security Group is seeking a Lead Event Security Officer (LESO) to provide operational and administrative oversight for event staffing, with a focus on community outreach. The LESO will play a key role in supporting event security, ensuring compliance with company policies, and managing on-site security staff. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work in dynamic environments.
The ideal candidate will have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a “P” endorsement, as well as an active Guard Card. Language support for the Afghan community (Dari or Pashto) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties:
- Oversee event staffing assignments, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to client needs.
- Serve as an on-site lead at events, addressing staffing and logistical issues in real time.
- Drive a company-provided van to event locations, ensuring safe transport of security personnel and equipment.
- Monitor compliance with California time and attendance laws, tracking meal breaks, rest breaks, and overtime.
- Identify and document payroll exceptions to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
- Manage event staff scheduling, tracking, and deployment.
- Provide language support and cultural competency for community outreach efforts.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with creating, managing, and implementing seasonal staffing schedules.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing staffing outcomes, challenges, and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including timekeeping and reporting accuracy.
Community Outreach & Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between the company and community organizations.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding security staff, particularly from underrepresented communities.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to event staff, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Conduct pre- and post-event briefings to communicate operational updates.
- Utilize de-escalation skills to manage conflicts effectively.
- Work closely with management to resolve staffing challenges and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
Required Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid BSIS Guard Card License
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with “P” endorsement
- Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Preferred Certifications:
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
- Baton, Pepper Spray, Handcuff, and Taser Certifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Experience in event management, staffing coordination, or community outreach preferred.
