Overview
An “On Call” Event Security Officer is responsible for a variety of tasks regarding Special Event security and operations, such as Concerts, Shows and VIP Parties and Socials. The Event Security Officer will ensure the safety and protection of all those present during an event including guests, artists, other staff members and the venue itself. The team member will continuously be in direct contact with guests and therefore must possess excellent communication and customer service skills as well as knowledge of the venue and its operations. Shows and events may be scheduled on any day of the week and hours will vary; however, the bulk of assignments will be between the hours of 6pm-12am. Majority of events will be scheduled 2-4 weeks in advance. An “on-call” team member is not required to be available for every event; however, must be available a minimum of 24 hours per month to maintain employment.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

- Creates an atmosphere that attracts guests to make Hard Rock Live at the Hard Rock Sacramento Fire Mountain (HRSFM) their premier choice for live entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and providing superior guest service.
- Maintains order on HRSFM property, specifically Hard Rock Live, providing extraordinary guest service at all times and has the resiliency to deal with the difficult guest(s).
- Is posted to and monitors assigned area(s) to protect the integrity of the back of house, backstage, perimeter doors and provide a safe environment for guests and team members.
- Assists sick or injured guests and team members as needed.
- Remains alert and reports unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Politely responds to guest questions about the venue regarding seating policies, locations of restrooms, concessions, first aid, emergency exits, etc.
- Composes clear and concise incident reports and witness statements when necessary.
- Operates company vehicles in a safe manner.
- Responds to emergency situations as necessary. Conducts emergency actions including, but not limited to performing evacuations, establishing and maintaining cordons, and perimeters.
- Prepares detailed reports on security incidents and submits to Security Supervisor for review.
- Maintains full confidentiality with respect to artist, company and guest information.
- Assists in evacuation processes and procedures on the property as required.
- Monitors guests to ensure all those present are behaving in a manner that complies with HRSFM policies and procedures.
- Assists police and medical personnel by notifying them immediately when an incident is reported and follows through by providing further investigation information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training, or through related experience. Previous work in a similar role preferred, but not required.
