Dillard's is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our Business Process Engineering Team. As a Business Process Engineer, you will work collaboratively to solve complex problems that directly impact associates and customers. Your skills and experience will be used to identify possible opportunities for efficiency, cost savings/profit gain, consolidation, and/or modernization. In this role, you will work with all areas and levels of the company to provide information, analysis, and recommendations on issues and opportunities for improvement. This will require time onsite at our fulfillment, distribution centers, and stores to look into processes and find areas of improvement in partnership with management and engineering teams.

- "We want to do this – make it happen,"
- "Why is this failing – make it better,"
- "How does this work – research and vet it."
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collaborate and work closely with internal business leaders to identify gaps and challenges
- Generate requirements using interviews, data analysis, site visits, use cases, and workflow analysis
- Perform process simulations and develop process flow diagrams to communicate the nature of the business process
- Research market and industry trends to help formulate recommendations for improvement
- Participate in a test and learn approach to validate recommendations
- Create meaningful presentations and analyses that tell a "story" focused on insights and not just data
- Synthesize data into actionable business strategy and communicate findings to various levels of management teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education or equivalent field of study
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and process control
- Skilled in the application of metrics to drive decisions/actions
- Effective interviewer of business owners, able to assess current needs and prescribe solutions
- Self-starter with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work as a team member and individually
- Experience with SQL and good knowledge of relational databases
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to work onsite at Corporate Headquarters in Little Rock, AR
- Design and implement strategic process improvement initiatives
- Effectively build and manage interdepartmental relationships
- Strong project leadership and people influencing skills
- Lean Six Sigma, PMI, or related certification
- Experience in at least one open-source scientific or statistical programming language such as R or Python
- Experience with at least one general purpose, high-level programming language such as C/C , Java, or PHP
- 5 years of experience in a product development or process improvement role
- Shadow team members and spend time in the areas you will be working with.
- Learn the database tables that this team utilizes and be able to query needed information.
- Start meeting and becoming familiar with business stakeholders, including development teams and management.
