Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Director located in Virginia Beach, VA. The Financial Director will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Finance Director position encompasses oversight of accounting, financial planning and analysis and contracts. As well as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, benefits and 401k administration.

Role Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of the accounting and finance operations, ensuring continuity of operations, strong
internal controls, and the design and implementation of organizational structures and systems which align
with the Firm’s strategic goals. Approve, prepare, and present comprehensive financial and associated
reports to the executive team.
• Manage and configure the accounting data so that it is tracked and reported to facilitate compliance with all applicable regulations (GAAP, FAR, etc.) and that the accounting system and associated documentation is sufficient to maintain its ongoing adequacy.
• Continuously seek and implement opportunities for improvement in financial and accounting operations.
Optimize financial systems for efficiency, enhance automation, and lead digital transformation initiatives in finance.
• Oversee risk management processes, making sure financial risks are identified, assessed, and managed
appropriately. Assume a lead role with DCAA, external auditors, creditors, and tax accountants.
• Provide in-depth financial insights during contract review and negotiations, particularly with prime contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements. Guide decision-making related to financial implications within contract terms and conditions.
• Assist with submission of federal proposals, including task orders, contracts and subcontracts. Develop and oversee creation of comprehensive cost models and ensure compliance with federal solicitation requirements.
• Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, FAR, DCAA, organizational policies, and client requirements. Maintain current understanding of GAAP, FAR and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5 years of progressive experience in senior financial leadership roles with experience working with government contracting and expertise in primary contract types (FFP, T&M, Cost Plus).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to be hands on and roll up your sleeves as
needed.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP & DCAA compliance, experience developing incurred cost submissions and
indirect rate proposals.
• Sound financial judgment and perspective, and the ability to effectively communicate and share complex
ideas and concepts.
• Experience supporting DOD and other Federal agencies.
