What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Supervisor- Children's Residential Home ( STRTP) position at Dimondale Adolescent Care Facility?
SHIFT: Tuesday-Saturday, 12pm-8pm
Paid Two-Week Training and Onboarding Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Extensive paid training will be provided, requiring candidates to be fully available for the entire two-week training period, which will be conducted in person. This training will cover essential youth care worker duties, PRO-ACT, Naloxone (NARCAN) training, and crises response to ensure you are well-equipped to deliver high-quality care.
Who We Are:
Dimondale is a California 501(c) Public Benefit Organization that operates the Dimondale Adolescent Care Facilities in Southern California, providing residential services to youth that are at risk of or have experienced neglect, abuse, school failure, juvenile delinquency, and mental health disorders or all the above.
Dimondale is seeking a full-time Facility Supervisor to manage the facility's daily operations and provide direct supervision of youth and Direct Care Staff on site. When the STRTP Administrator is absent, the Facility Supervisor shall be the designated substitute.
Responsibilities:
The Facility Supervisor shall be responsible for a group of residents and staff members. The duties include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Designee when the Administrator is not at the facility.
- Ensure the facility and its staff are properly maintained and in compliance with the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regulation as well as Continuum of Care Reform (CCR) for the STRTP interim licensing standards and operations, Commissions on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
- Responsible for verbally informing the Administrator of facility related unusual incident reports and assist in facilitating reports to the appropriate agencies.
- Be familiar with Title 22 and all County and Federal law for operating a STRTP.
- Direct supervision and oversee all residents and Direct Care Workers
- Staff scheduling for the team and added coverage in the absence of a team member.
- Assist staff with topics in daily peer accountability groups.
- Be familiar with all residents' files.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings and assist with in-service training.
- Assist and maintain current treatment plans and goal for all clients on the caseload.
- Participate in the 8- hour orientation training.
- Assure that staff is discipline appropriately and in a timely matter. Recommend administrative review, and terminations.
- Assist Administrator with assigning areas of accountability with Shift leader, Education, Activities, and Medical coordinators. Coordinate with Education coordinator to stay abreast of school conferences, IEP, and enrollments. Make sure you are in contact with activities coordinator and can account for the monthly clothing allowance and activities budget.
- Facilitate Monthly Inspection of facility, employee and resident files. Maintain all Logs (activity, Sir, van, phone, communication, etc.).
Qualifications:
Have a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree with one year experience working with the population to be served.
OR
High School Diploma with two years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, working with the population to be served, or equivalent education or experience, as determined by CDSS. Or Two years’ experience as a member of the social work staff in a group home or short-term residential therapeutic program
Additional Qualifications
- Management experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a physical examination; criminal background check, and Child Abuse Index check.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license with clean DMV history and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Dimondale's insurance carrier.
- Experience working in a facility/program similar to Dimondale or one involved with the counseling, education, or recreation of youth.
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing to clients, other staff and to the general public in a timely, respectful, and professional manner.
- Have a working knowledge of and be adept at applying Crisis Intervention strategies/interventions.
- Ability to supervise 15 or more employees.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all duties.
- Must have CPR/First Aid Certificate.
Requirement
Dimondale staff are required to be certified in Pro-ACT (Professional Assault Crisis Training) within one month of being hired, by Dimondale’s certified Pro-ACT Instructor. All Pro-ACT trained staff have demonstrated the full understanding of the guidelines and meet the standard put forth in the training, resulting in their certification in Pro-ACT and/or Pro-ACT restraints.
What Pro ACT Entails:
Pro-ACT will describe the principles need for the de-escalation of a youth in crisis, as trained staff aid the youth back to their baseline. In the event restraint assistance is needed, only Pro-ACT trained staff can perform a restraint based on the following criteria:
- There is a crisis, harm to self or harm to others.
- Ratio is met; two Pro-ACT trained staff required to perform the restraint
- Staff are able to safely enter into the restraint and maintain the safety of all party’s involved
