What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Supervisor (Overnight) position at Dimondale Adolescent Care Facility?
SHIFT: Thursday- Friday, 10pm-8am. Must be available on Thursday 10am-12pm for management meetings.
Paid Two-Week Training and Onboarding Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Extensive paid training will be provided, requiring candidates to be fully available for the entire two-week training period, which will be conducted in person. This training will cover essential youth care worker duties, PRO-ACT, Naloxone (NARCAN) training, and crises response to ensure you are well-equipped to deliver high-quality care.
Who We Are:
Dimondale is a California 501(c) Public Benefit Organization that operates the Dimondale Adolescent Care Facilities in Southern California, providing residential services to youth that are at risk of or have experienced neglect, abuse, school failure, juvenile delinquency, and mental health disorders or all the above.
Dimondale is seeking a full-time Overnight Residential Supervisor to manage the facility's daily operations and provide direct supervision of youth and Direct Care Staff on site.
Summary
As a Residential Supervisor (Overnight), you will oversee the care and support of residents in a facility, reporting directly to the Area Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for youth we serve. You will lead a team in assisting residents and staff with daily activities. Your relevant skills will be essential in maintaining the well-being of all residents during overnight shifts.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise residents and graveyard staff
- Travel between assigned facilities for site checks
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsible for covering shifts at the facilities should a Graveyard staff member call out.
Under the direction of the STRTP Area Manager, the STRTP Overnight Supervisor performs the following functions:
- Designated individual for crises response reporting
- Monitor and document residents' health and behavior, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Designee when on site.
- Required to follow protocol on Special Incident Reporting, Emergency Phone Tree, Child Abuse Hotline, Probation Child Welfare Hotline and Dimondale’s Chain of Command.
- Required to attend all Crisis Response Training, Nar-can, Substance Use, SIR, and OD line Reporting Training.
- Responsible for notifying Facility Administrators of facility related unusual incident reports and assisting in facilitating reports to the appropriate agencies.
- Will act as a liaison between Administrator and Area Manager
- In ratio when residents are present
- Be familiar with STRTP Interim Licensing Standards and all County and Federal law for operating STRTP.
- Review graveyard shift-change checklist.
- Review daily logs and memos.
- Administer medications as prescribed and respond to medical emergencies.
- Give a complete shift report to the Area Manager.
Education/Experience Qualifications
The administrator shall meet one of the following qualifications:
- Have a master's degree in a behavioral science from an accredited college or university, plus two years of employment as a social worker, as defined in California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Section 80001 (s)(4), in an agency serving children or in a residential congregate care program for children.
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least three years’ administrative experience or supervisory experience over social work, direct care and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of six or more.
- Have completed at least two years at an accredited college or university, plus at least five years’ administrative experience or supervisory experience over social work, direct care and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of six or more
- Be a qualified and certified group home administrator prior to January 1, 2017
Additional Required Qualifications
- Valid STRTP Administrator Certification
- Meet STRTP Interim Licensing Standards requirement in section 87065 (f)(1)
- Must have some knowledge and ability to comply with all applicable laws and is familiar with Title 22, Regulations.
- Have a working knowledge of and be adept at applying Crisis Intervention strategies/interventions.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to supervise 15 or more employees
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all duties.
- Must have a criminal record clearance and child abuse index clearance, required.
- Valid California drivers; license and a driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing to residents, other staff and to the general public.
- Must have valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Must have effective communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Pro- Act Requirement
Dimondale staff are required to be certified in Pro-ACT (Professional Assault Crisis Training) within one month of being hired, by Dimondale’s certified Pro-ACT Instructor. All Pro-ACT trained staff have demonstrated a full understanding of the guidelines and meet the standard put forth in the training, resulting in their certification in Pro-ACT and/or Pro-ACT restraints.
