What are the responsibilities and job description for the STRTP Facility Administrator position at Dimondale Adolescent Care Facility?
Who We Are:
Dimondale is a California 501(c) Public Benefit Organization that operates the Dimondale Adolescent Care Facilities in Southern California, providing residential services to youth that are at risk of or have experienced neglect, abuse, school failure, juvenile delinquency, and mental health disorders or all the above.
Onboarding:
Paid onboarding. Must be available Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm for 2weeks.
Job Functions:
1. Responsible for direction and implementation of all programs within the guidelines and policies of Dimondale Adolescent Care Facilities.
2. Responsible for the organization, supervision, and delegation of work in the facility.
3. Assist Human Resources in recruiting, evaluation, and termination of staff.
4. Develop plans for orientation, training, and instructions to staff.
5. Reviews complaints by residents or their authorized representatives and initiates appropriate action.
6. Responsible for overall care of clients.
7. Summarize the child’s progress quarterly reports and determine appropriate services for meeting the needs of clients.
8. Reports all required incidents to various agencies concerning children in placement.
9. Provides input to the STRTP Program Director on a bi-monthly basis.
10. Report any change in staff criminal record to C.C.L.
11. Provide coverage in the absence of a team member
Education Qualifications:
- Have a master's degree in a behavioral science from an accredited college or university, plus two years of employment as a social worker, as defined in California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Section 80001 (s)(4), in an agency serving children or in a residential congregate care program for children.
OR
- Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least three years’ administrative experience or supervisory experience over social work, direct care and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of six or more.
OR
- Have completed at least two years at an accredited college or university, plus at least five years’ administrative experience or supervisory experience over social work, direct care and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of six or more.
OR
- Be a qualified and certified group home administrator prior to January 1, 2017.
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the above duties.
- Must pass a physical examination, criminal background check and Child Abuse Index check.
- Must have some knowledge and ability to comply with all applicable laws and is familiar with STRTP Interim Licensing Standards requirements in section 87065 (f)(1)
- Valid STRTP Administrative Certification preferred.
- Must have effective communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

Pro-ACT (Professional Assault Crisis Training) Requirement
Dimondale staff are required to be certified in Pro-ACT (Professional Assault Crisis Training) within one month of being hired, by Dimondale’s certified Pro-ACT Instructor. All Pro-ACT trained staff have demonstrated the full understanding of the guidelines and meet the standard put forth in the training, resulting in their certification in Pro-ACT and/or Pro-ACT restraints.
