Flexible, including some evenings and weekend hours, Sunday - Friday.
Summary / Objective of Position :
Under the general supervision of the Branch Librarian, this Library Assistant is responsible for performing duties that support activities in the successful operation of the academic library. The Library Assistant will support operations on a daily basis, such as staffing the circulation desk and assisting patrons in accessing library materials and services. This position will assist in collecting and circulating library material through the Integrated Library System (ILS), maintain patron records, and conduct functions within the system. Book and material processing will be additional duties. Able to interact with library patrons.

25% Circulation :
- Staffs the circulation desk on an assigned schedule;
- Provides excellent customer service;
- Charges and discharges library materials, issues library cards, updates patron records;
- Maintenance of system patron records including fines, addresses, status;
- Provides access to course reserves;
- Assigns room reservations;
- Assists with printing services;
- Assigns patrons to community computers and printing services.
25% Book Processing and Collection Maintenance :
25% Library Usage :
15% Library Collection Maintenance :
10% Projects and other duties as assigned.
