Full Time Director of Religious Education (DRE)
Starting at $50,000 plus benefits.
Qualifications
- An active member of the Roman Catholic Church living the
sacramental and moral life of the Church.
Has received the sacrament of Confirmation
If Married was married in the Church
- Has at least three years of experience in catechetical ministry
- Displays an understanding of and commitment to diocesan
policies and guidelines
- Proficient in English and Spanish language
- Formal training in Religious Education (eg Masters/Bachelor’s Degree/Certificate in Catechesis/Religious Education/Faith Formation)
- Good computer skills
Familiar with Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Using databases such as Parishsoft
Responsibilities
- All responsibilities are onsite and include some evenings and weekends
- Reports to the Parish Administrator and Permanent Deacon
- Planning and directing the parish curriculum for Religious Education
- The DRE is also the “Safe Environment Coordinator” for the parish and keeps records of background checks and safe environment training for adults in the parish who work with children.
- Assisting parents in the religious formation of their children and preparation for sacraments
- Sacramental formation and adult faith formation parish wide.
- Help establish harmony between Spanish and English speaking parishioners.
- Support efforts to bring adults into the Church, especially the parents of children in the program.
