St. Joseph School, located in Fairhaven, MA, is seeking a Middle School Mathematics and Science Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The teacher would be responsible for all lessons in Mathematics and Science to students in grades 6-8. In addition, the teacher would be assigned a homeroom and would be accountable for all homeroom duties and responsibilities.Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree and teacher certification/licensure is preferred.Candidates having academic preparation in or experience teaching middle school Mathematics and Science preferred.
Candidates should be committed to academic excellence, team collaboration, and must also be able to support the mission of a parish Catholic school.Responsibilities include but not limited to: Develop and document weekly lesson plans consistent with diocesan curriculumguidelines. Provide grade appropriate instructional program that includes hands on activities in theareas of Mathematics and Science. Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and theteachings of the Catholic Church. Lead students in daily prayer and actively participate and supervise students duringreligious services and activities.
Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times and must havethe necessary classroom management skills to supervise adolescents. Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engagestudents. Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional,empathetic and timely manner. Participate in the active supervision of students at all times to include dismissal, recess,after school extra help for students, etc.
