The Catholic Diocese of Marquette seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant to join the Stewardship & Development Department in Marquette, MI. As an Administrative Assistant, you will assist and support the department’s overall ministry of stewardship and development for the Diocese of Marquette and the U.P. Catholic Foundation.
The ideal candidate for this position conducts themselves with a high degree of responsibility and confidentiality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Support and uphold the mission of the Diocese of Marquette and the U.P. Catholic Foundation.
- Work with the Executive Director and other diocesan staff to advance the mission.
- Utilize databases for donor management, email communications, & grant management.
- Serve parishes, missions, Catholic schools, donors, and other constituents.
- Assist with gift acceptance, pledge management, new fund set up, board and committee support, budgeting, payables, communications, and annual goal setting.
- Manage the U.P. Catholic Foundation website and giving platform.
- Assist with serving parish and Catholic school leaders with development-related training such as increased offertory, capital campaign basics, estate planning seminars, planned giving programs, and Yoopers for Seminarians development program for diocesan vocations.
- Maintain a master calendar of department activities.
- Manage department electronic and hard files.
- Schedule and prepare meeting/meeting minutes.
- Answer phone calls and emails.
- Sort and distribute mail and faxes.
- Data entry of budgets, accounts payable, and more.
- Responsible for office supplies inventory and ordering.
- Assist with creating marketing campaigns.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Associate’s degree in office information systems or related field preferred OR Comparable professional experience preferred.
- 3 – 5 years experience in general administrative assistance preferred.
- Experience with database management preferred.
- Must be willing to serve the mission of the Catholic Church.
- Strong skills in computers, telephones, and other various technologies.
- Demonstrated skills in spelling/grammar and office equipment.
- Must maintain a high level of office confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative, self-direct, and organize/arrange priorities.
- Experience with donor data management & fundraising is a plus.
