Technology( IT) Coordinator Job DescriptionJob Title: Technology CoordinatorLocation: Monsignor Clarke School, Wakefield, RIJob Type: Part-time (year round)About Monsignor Clarke School: Monsignor Clarke School is a Pre-K through 8th-grade private Catholic school dedicated to providing a nurturing,faith-based learning environment. We integrate technology into our curriculum and administrative operations, ensuringthat both students and staff have a seamless and modern educational experience.Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Technology Coordinator to oversee and manage the daily technology needsof the school. This onsite role will provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students while ensuring the optimalfunctioning of devices, networks, and systems. The Technology Coordinator will collaborate closely with externaltechnology consultants for strategic planning, vendor management, and high-level technology decisions.Key Responsibilities: Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide timely support and resolve technical issues related to computers (Macs and PCs), iPads, Chromebooks, interactive whiteboards, printers, and other classroom technologies.Device Management: Oversee the setup, configuration, inventory, maintenance, and security of all school devices, including both student and staff devices.Google Admin Console & Active Directory Management: Administer Google Workspace for Education and Active Directory, including managing user accounts, device policies, and app configurations.Network Administration: Ensure secure and reliable operation of the schools network infrastructure, includingWi-Fi, servers, firewalls, and switches.
Work in collaboration with consultants and the ISP on network upgrades and issues.Server & Systems Management: Maintain school servers and cloud-based solutions, ensuring regular updates and security backups to protect data integrity.Software Support & Licensing: Manage the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of software applications used by staff and students. Ensure all licenses and subscriptions are up-to-date.Classroom Technology Support: Maintain and troubleshoot classroom technology systems, including interactive whiteboards, projectors, and audio systems.Technology Policy & Security: Implement and enforce best practices for device and network security in accordance with school policies and administrative direction.Training & Professional Development: Provide training for faculty and staff on the effective use of technology, helping them integrate technology into their daily classroom activities.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hardware, software, network configurations, and systems for auditing and troubleshooting purposes.Additional Duties: Perform other technology-related duties as assigned by the school principal.Qualifications: Education & Experience: Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or a similar role, with preference given to candidates with experience in an educational setting.Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows and macOS systems, iPads, Chromebooks, and classroom technology devices.Expertise in managing Google Admin Console and Google Workspace for Education.Familiarity with educational applications such as Promethean/Smartboard, GoGuardian, and FACTS SIS system.Knowledge of network systems including Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPNs, and server configurations.Familiarity with interactive whiteboards, projectors, and A V equipment.Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced school environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the Catholic school environment and values.Experience in a Pre-K-8 school setting.Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Google Certified Educator/Administrator.Availability for occasional after-hours emergencies and scheduled maintenance outside of regular school hours.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move IT equipment as necessary.How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and cover letter detailing their relevant experience andqualifications to jsousa@monsignorclarkeschool.org.
