St. Mary Academy-Bay View is seeking a full-time Upper School Mathematics Teacherbeginning in January 2025. Faculty at Bay View have deep content knowledge and arecommitted to student-centered instructional practices. Candidates must be committed to anall-girls education and Mercy values.Specific responsibilities for this position include: Teaching Upper School Mathematics to students in grade levels 9-11.
Preparing and Teaching 5 sections of math including courses in statistics and geometry(college prep, honors, or AP levels). Planning, organizing, and implementing instructional programming that promotes theacademic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of students in an all-girls school. Assessing student learning for both formative and summative purposes using multiplemeasures. Employing high-quality instruction using evidence-based practices to support all learners.
Adapting teaching methods, projects, and instructional materials to meet students'varying needs and interests. Integrating instructional and recordkeeping strategies using Google Suite, and/or otherappropriate technology. Being flexible, open-minded, and a self-driven team member.Qualifications for this position are: BA/BS degree in Mathematics or related field, Masters degree preferred Knowledge and experience teaching a rigorous mathematics curriculum Committed to ongoing professional growth and learning Understanding and appreciating the developmental range of the age group Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Collaborative skills, including the ability to work with colleagues and parents High energy level, creative and forward-thinking A sense of humor, warmth, and a love of working with children and their families.
