Title : Bus Driver / Maintenance, Full-time (40 hrs. / wk.)Reports to : PrincipalLocation : Bishop Verot High School | Fort Myers, FL Classification : Hourly / Nonexempt OverviewBishop Verot High School is seeking a full time Bus Driver & Maintenance Associate. Job Responsibilities : Bus DriverSafely transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and field trips as scheduled or as needed on an on-call basis.Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival and departure.Ensure the safety and comfort of students while on the bus, adhering to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as school policies.Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working order. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.Maintain clear communication with the school administration and parents regarding any delays or issues.Uphold and model the values and teachings of the Catholic faith in all interactions with students, staff, and the community. Maintenance associatePerform routine building preventive maintenance, indoor and outdoor.Perform minor painting, carpentry and electrical work (not requiring a licensed electrician, such as replacing light bulbs).Ensure that safety (including fire safety) and security policies are followed on the grounds and facilities.Set-up and break-down for special events, per set-up requestsProvide exceptional customer service to all ministries, event clients, parishioners, and guests.Maintain assigned vehicle, tools and equipment to ensure their safe, operating condition.Report any deficiencies in regular maintenance or contractor performance to the principal.Liaise with contractors such as cleaning, landscaping, and air conditioning, as needed.Respond to work-related phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.Understanding of all safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items.Reports all accidents and / or potential hazards to the principal.Other tasks as assigned.High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license and at least 1 year experience driving a school bus.Must have a CDL Class A license with the appropriate endorsements to drive a school bus.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students and parents.Must be able to pass a level 2 background screening including MVR.Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing.Must pass DOV assigned post offer physical exam.
