What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Assistant/Pharmacy Technician position at Direct Access?
Job Summary
At Direct Access, we are a family medicine practice that is dedicated to serving our patients with the highest level of care, and dedicated to creating a wonderful work environment for our staff. We are a membership based practice where patients pay a monthly subscription to be a patient with our office. We do not accept or file medical insurance. This part-time position has flexible hours ranging from 20-24 hours per week. These can change between being 3 full days a week, or more days with shorter hours per day. We are looking for a Clinical Assistant for our back office where the primary job duty will be working as a pharmacy technician, and also clinically assisting the nurses when needed. Some of the duties and required skills as listed below:
Job Duties
- Receive prescriptions and follow protocols for filling prescriptions
- Select the appropriate medicines to fill prescriptions
- Sort, stock, label medication, and monitor inventory
- Resolve issues when they arise (e.g. incorrect lot numbers)
- Undertake clinical tasks (e.g. helping clinical staff when needed)
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards
Skills
- Experience as Pharmacy Technician preferred
- Experience as Medical Assistant is a plus
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurements
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Reliable with a keen eye for detail

- Eager to Learn
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
