What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development and Marketing Specialist position at Direct Counsel?
A National Law Firm is looking for an experienced Business Development and Marketing Specialist for their Healthcare practice. The position will report the Senior Department Marketing Manager supporting one of the largest healthcare practices in the country!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Department’s practice groups, attorneys, competition and client base.
- Support the execution of marketing and business development initiatives, programs, events and activities for the Department and its Practice Groups, both independently and in partnership with the Senior Department Marketing Manager.
- Support RFP and pitch response strategy and the creation of materials, including meticulous editing and, as needed, assisting with in-depth market and client research to craft targeted, compelling content for high-impact, customized materials for new business opportunities. Monitor and maintain RFP and pitch status in proposal tracking database.
- Coordinate and support the development, execution and follow-up of internal and client-facing events and webinars, with support from the firm-wide events team (includes supporting the development of event proposals and budgets, logistics, targeted list development, invitations and client communications, etc.)
- Assist with Department and practice-specific sponsorships, including attendee registration, collateral, booths, etc.
- Coordinate e-communications including eAlerts, monthly department emails, new attorney welcome emails, quarterly newsletters and other communications.
- Collaborate with the firm’s PR team to advance profile-raising efforts within target markets.
- Assist with the ongoing review and updating of Department and practice-specific marketing and external content (practice group pages, attorney bios, pitch and proposal materials), including ensuring relevant data, statistics and accolades are updated timely in all places utilized.
- Conduct market research, gather industry information and perform other relevant research.
- Study and monitor the legal market and the various business industries important to the Department and their Practice Groups.
- Partner and collaborate with other firm administrative departments, as necessary, for project completion.
- Draft and project manage select directory submissions (e.g. Chambers) and other practice or industry-specific rankings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years or more of relevant work experience in Legal (Am Law preferred) or other Professional Services industry
- Legal marketing experience
- Driven towards excellence and a strong sense professionalism, and an ability to identify and understand marketplace trends
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to identify and recommend effective solutions
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary: $85,000-$100,000 per year
